Job Description

Objectives

As an AI Engineer at Frazier Healthcare Partners, you will be crucial in building and integrating applications that support our investment platform and AI initiatives. You will be responsible for developing scalable solutions that connect our existing software ecosystem while implementing new AI-powered applications. Working closely with our investment professionals, you will create tools that enhance our ability to identify, assess, and monitor healthcare platform investments. This role will work out of our New York office and is expected to travel to New York at least once a month.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Integrate with our existing software ecosystem, which includes DealCloud, PitchBook, Grata, Investran, and JobVite.
  • Build and maintain the AI integration layer that connects various third-party applications and enables cross-platform data flow.
  • Implement automation solutions to reduce manual data entry and maintenance tasks across platforms.
  • Build a set of data pipelines processing investment-related documents and financial data from portfolio companies.
  • Automate Excel spreadsheets with Python to rapidly construct multiple revenue and earnings projections as part of due diligence for new investments.

Other Duties

  • Collaborate with investment professionals to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Implement best practices for software development, including version control, code review, and documentation.
  • Ensure high performance, scalability, reliability, and security of developed applications.
  • Participate in the evaluation and integration of new AI-powered tools and technologies.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key AI technology partners and vendors.

Knowledge, Skills, And Key Traits

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
  • 3-5 years of professional software development experience
  • Strong proficiency in full-stack development using modern frameworks and languages such as Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, React, or Angular
  • Experience with API development and integration
  • Solid understanding of database design and management (SQL and NoSQL)
  • Familiarity with cloud services (Azure preferred)
  • Good technical background in machine learning, deep learning, and data science frameworks and tools
  • Proven track record of successfully implementing AI solutions in business contexts
  • Experience with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD pipelines
  • Strong understanding of software development life cycle and best practices
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience with data integration and ETL processes
  • Knowledge of AI/ML technologies and integration patterns
  • Familiarity with private equity operations
  • Experience with automation tools and scripting
  • Knowledge of security best practices in financial applications
  • Experience with data visualization libraries and tools

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $170,000-$200,000 + annual discretionary bonus.
  • All U.S. based employees have access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company profit share, long-term disability coverage, basic and voluntary life insurance, and wellbeing benefits, among others. Employees accrue 17 days of paid time off (inclusive of sick leave) per calendar year, increasing annually. There are also up to 10 scheduled paid holidays, and a paid holiday office closure the last week of the calendar year.
