Job Title: Forklift Mechanic
Department: Maintenance
Shift: Days
Classification: Non-exempt
Reports to: Maintenance Manager

Job Summary:

Responsible for diagnosing and repairing forklifts, performing preventative maintenance, and ensuring equipment is safe and operational. Requires attention to safety, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform inspections, diagnostics, and preventive maintenance on forklifts

• Conduct oil changes, lubrication, tire changes, and battery maintenance

• Inspect and maintain hydraulic, electrical, brake, steering, and cooling systems

• Fabricate and install basic parts as needed

• Pressure wash and paint equipment

• Tag and report any unsafe equipment

Qualifications:

• 2–3 years of forklift mechanic experience

• Forklift certification required

• Strong knowledge of welding, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems

• Basic tool set required (wrenches, sockets, gauges, etc.)

• Ability to follow safety protocols and work with minimal supervision

• Bilingual in Spanish/English preferred

Physical Requirements:

• Lift and carry up to 70 lbs

• Frequent bending, kneeling, twisting, and ground-level work

• Work outdoors in a covered area

Safety Requirements:

• Use of PPE (safety glasses, steel-toed boots, gloves, etc.)

• Attend safety trainings and follow all procedures

• Report hazards, accidents, and equipment failures promptly
