Job Description
We are looking for a compliance-driven HR professional to support standardizing our HR practices. This project-based role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience in regulated industries such as lending or brokerage, and a deep understanding of employment laws and HR compliance standards. The successful candidate will work independently to audit, refine, and implement HR policies, procedures, and training programs.
Responsibilities:
Develop, revise, and implement employee handbooks, HR policies, and standard operating procedures
Ensure HR practices comply with all applicable federal, state (especially California), and industry-specific regulations
Design and deliver training materials on topics such as compliance, employee conduct, and HR procedures
Conduct internal audits to identify gaps and recommend solutions for compliance improvement
Advise leadership on regulatory updates, HR investigations, disciplinary protocols, and documentation standards
Support consistent and compliant HR practices across departments and teams
Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of recent HR experience, preferably within mortgage lending, brokerage, or financial services
Expertise in California and federal employment laws and HR compliance standards
Demonstrated experience creating and implementing HR policies and training content
Excellent communication skills-both written and verbal
Highly discreet and professional when handling confidential matters
Independent, proactive, and detail-oriented with strong follow-through
