Job Title: Research Associate in Obesity Research Company: Eli Lilly and Company Location: Cambridge, MA Minimum Qualifications: B.S. and/or M.S. in biology or a closely related field with 3+ years of laboratory experience. A background in the biology and physiology of energy balance regulation and metabolic disease is a plus. Experience with immunohistochemistry, in situ hybridization, various assay detection technologies (fluorescence, luminescence, assays). Experience with imaging techniques. Demonstrated ability to work on cross-functional teams and projects. Responsibilities: Plan and independently execute in vivo experiments to support preclinical characterization and evaluation of targets/pathways that regulate energy balance. Perform routine rodent handling, dosing and small animal surgeries, including but not limited to parenteral routes of administration, stereotaxic surgeries, and tissue collection. Perform molecular and biochemical assessments, including protein and RNA detection and Sanger sequencing, from ex vivo samples collected from bulk tissues or sorted by fluorescence flow cytometry. Function independently, work within a team-oriented lab environment and work within cross-functional project teams. Maintain accurate record keeping, independent data analysis, and reporting of data in written and oral formats. Comply with Lilly Research Policies and complete all required training activities in the specified timeframe. Comments/Special Instructions: Will be working with mice in a vivarium and performing wet lab work.
