Network Engineer

Job Type: Full-Time | Location: On-site: Johns Creek, GA

Optomi, in partnership with one of our premier clients, is seeking a mid-level Network Engineer who thrives in hands-on environments and is eager to grow. This role requires strong foundational experience in network configuration, support, and troubleshooting. The ideal candidate will be confident in their technical skills and enthusiastic about learning new tools and processes unique to our infrastructure approach.

Experience of the Right Candidate:

• 3–5 years of hands-on experience in enterprise networking
• Strong knowledge of Cisco networking (routing, switching, VLANs)
• Proficiency with SD-WAN technologies (VeloCloud preferred)
• Experience configuring and supporting Palo Alto firewalls
• Solid understanding of LAN/WAN design and troubleshooting
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and communicate effectively with stakeholders
• Experience with Unifi/Ubiquiti wireless solutions
• Familiarity with network-based camera systems, including deployment and staging
• Certifications such as CCNA or PCNSE are a plus

Responsibilities of the Right Candidate:

• Configure and maintain enterprise network infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless systems.
• Support and optimize SD-WAN environments, with a focus on VeloCloud.
• Perform VLAN configuration, switch deployments, and basic Wi-Fi setup.
• Administer and troubleshoot Palo Alto firewalls and Cisco routing/switching environments.
• Deliver excellent end-user support, with a strong focus on responsiveness and communication.
• Participate in staging, deployment, and support of network-related hardware.
• Collaborate with other IT and infrastructure teams to implement best practices.
• Document procedures, configurations, and incident resolution.
