Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric ICU night shift assignment, requiring a NJ or compact RN license and strong pediatric critical care skills.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

• Work in a 19-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at a hospital
• Patient population includes critically ill pediatric patients with a 1:2+ nurse-to-patient ratio
• Primary duties in PICU with required floating to Pediatrics and NICU as needed
• Experience with Medtronic pacemakers, tele monitoring, BIPAP/CPAP, vents, high flow nasal cannula, and trachs required
• Night shift schedule (4x12 hour shifts, 19:00-7:30)
• Every other weekend rotation (Saturday/Sunday)
• Uses Epic as the EMR
• Provide comprehensive care for critically ill pediatric patients, including those requiring advanced cardiac and respiratory support
• Will float between PICU, general Pediatrics, and NICU based on clinical needs and skills
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Locals accepted at the same rate
• RTO (requested time off) documentation must be provided during consideration
• Open or active background/license issues not accepted for consideration

\n \n Requirements\n

• Active NJ or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of recent PICU critical care experience required, with at least 1 year of documented cardiac experience strongly preferred
• Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required; Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) preferred
• Experience with Medtronic pacemakers, telemetry, BIPAP/CPAP, ventilators, high flow nasal cannula, and tracheostomies required
• Epic charting system experience preferred
• First time travelers are not accepted
• Previous RWJBH staff (FT or PRN) must be separated from the system for at least one year
