Job Description : The VP is responsible for supporting member engagement and compliance by creating and regularly updating ABA compliance resources and training products, including Frontline training courses, FAQs on consumer compliance topics, and consumer compliance and Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) related topics pages on ABA’s website. The position is also responsible for guiding and managing ABA’s compliance analysts who respond to member questions about regulations and compliance. Key Responsibilities : Create and maintain the subject matter content of ABA’s suite of (approximately 100+) online compliance training courses for frontline bank employees (Frontline courses). Work with ABA subject matter experts to develop new Frontline course content on topical regulatory matters, including new rules for non-compliance and non-legal bank staff. Manage annual reviews of existing Frontline courses and work with ABA subject matter experts, update and edit as necessary. Maintain awareness of regulatory policy developments to inform the creation of new courses and required updates to existing courses. Partner with the Office of Member Engagement to develop and execute timely review and release of Frontline course content. Supervise and guide the Compliance Analysts. Provide guidance on member compliance inquiries. Review and edit the monthly compliance Q&A columns published in the ABA Banking Journal and ABA Risk and Compliance Magazine. Work with Compliance Analysts and ABA subject matter experts to draft FAQs and other compliance aids on consumer regulations. Work with internal subject matter experts to maintain updated content related to Consumer Protection, Mortgage, Housing Finance Policy, and BSA / AML on ABA.com. Requirements : Bachelor’s degree in related field required, J.D. strongly preferred. At least 10 years of experience in regulatory compliance within a bank, law firm, at a regulatory agency, as a consultant to a bank, or related work. Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) preferred. In-depth knowledge of consumer protection law and regulation. Knowledge of BSA / AML / sanctions law and regulations. Experience reading and complying with consumer protection regulations. Experience researching and responding to questions about regulations and bank compliance obligations. Strong communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex information to broad, non-technical audiences. Excellent writing skills are required. Strong organizational skills. Demonstrated ability to successfully work as part of a team and / or independently. Experience training bank employees or creating training materials preferred. Experience managing cross-functional teams and success managing people and deadlines outside of the direct reporting line.
