Traveling Superintendent – Light Industrial, F&B Manufacturing, and C-Store Projects (East Coast, Southeast, Mid-Atlantic & Midwest)

A growing national General Contractor is seeking an experienced Traveling Superintendent to join our team. Our project footprint spans the East Coast , Southeast , Mid-Atlantic , and Midwest regions, delivering work across Light Industrial , Manufacturing , Warehouse & Distribution , Process Piping , F&B Manufacturing Facilities , and major C-Store/Gas Station chains such as Wawa, Sheetz, QuikTrip/QT, and Buc-ee’s .

POSITION SUMMARY

The Traveling Superintendent will oversee all field-related aspects of Light Industrial , Manufacturing , F&B production and distribution , Warehouse , Civil , Structural , and C-Store/Gas Station projects across the Southeast , Mid-Atlantic , and Midwest . Responsibilities include managing subcontractors, field staff, schedules, budgets, and ensuring that all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to exact specifications while coordinating with client teams and project stakeholders.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee daily on-site construction activities to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget.

  • Lead and supervise subcontractors, trades, and field teams across varied project types, including F&B manufacturing and large C-store brands (Wawa, Sheetz, QT/QuikTrip, Buc-ee’s).

  • Coordinate with Project Managers, Engineers, and Architects to resolve field issues and maintain workflow.

  • Serve as the primary on-site liaison with owners and stakeholders, providing regular progress updates.

  • Implement site-specific safety programs and ensure compliance with company, client, and OSHA standards.

  • Manage project schedules, ensuring timely completion of all milestones.

  • Conduct site inspections for safety, quality control, and adherence to specifications.

  • Track labor productivity, materials, equipment usage, and subcontractor performance.

  • Lead subcontractor coordination meetings and maintain accurate meeting documentation.

  • Coordinate subcontractor submittals and oversee correct installation in the field.

  • Document construction activities through redlines, daily reports, photos, and as-built drawings.

  • Review drawings and specifications for compliance, accuracy, and potential conflicts.

  • Maintain thorough project documentation including RFIs, meeting minutes, audits, schedules, and reports.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • 10+ years of supervisory experience in an industrial or commercial construction environment .

  • Strong knowledge of construction processes including earthwork, concrete, structural steel, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.

  • Experience with F&B manufacturing facilities , warehouse/distribution , or large C-store/gas station chains (Wawa, Sheetz, QT/QuikTrip, Buc-ee’s) is highly desirable.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple subcontractors and stakeholders effectively.

  • Ability to read, interpret, and execute construction drawings, specifications, and work plans.

  • Must be fully flexible and willing to travel up to 100% throughout the Southeast, Mid-Atlantic, and Midwest .

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office , Microsoft Project or Primavera P6 , Bluebeam or Adobe Acrobat ; experience with Procore or similar platforms is a plus.
