We are seeking a 1099 Independent Contractor Civil or Structural Engineer for work in the Baltimore, MD area. Key Responsibilities Conduct site studies evaluating damages to materials or components for residential structures. Write technical reports providing detailed and accurate information on completed projects. Communicate regularly with clients, providing timelines and updates, and document all communication. Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers. Qualifications Active Professional Engineer (P.E.) registration in the state where work is assigned. Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or related fields. At least two years of experience in failure analysis, residential construction, building codes, or related areas is preferred. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Word. General computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Google Chrome. Superior customer service skills, team-oriented, and able to work independently. Reliable high-speed internet, cellular reception, and access to a laptop with necessary software. Physical Requirements Ability to stand for prolonged periods, lift/move objects 50-100 lbs., and climb onto roofs or ladders. Ability to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, handle objects, and drive for extended periods.
